Ayres Hall – LA County Arboretum
On Sunday October 4th, Melodia Mariposa presented their second family concert at Ayres Hall in the LA County Arboretum. Last year we performed Peter and the Wolf to a captivated young audience, and this was no different. Several hundred small children and their families enjoyed a multimedia experience with an original narration read by the actor Dorian Harewood, large projections of animals, skeletons and pianos on the hall walls and an all star orchestra conducted by David Cubek and joined by the amazing husband and wife piano duo of Bernadene Blaha and Kevin Fitz-Gerald.

Lions roared, and elephants really danced!

We were delighted to be joined by a bus party from the Downtown Value School – about 50 children, many of whom, like the rest of our young audience, had never attended a classical concert before.

Original Script – Larissa Starr Lewis
Videography and photography – Matt Tauro
Filming and technical direction – Robert Smith
